Take Your Daughter Child to Work Day[Despite being quite busy today, and quite sleepy this evening, I'm still less than 45 minutes late with this entry!... Though I guess if you are in Colorado or California... or Alaska, then I am not late at all.]Today was "Take Your Son or Daughter to Work Day"... I think I heard this mentioned on the news this morning - the people on the
CNBC financial news show that my dad was watching had apparently brought their kids with them into the studio.
I was just writing about this day, in my
A.S.T. internship journal, (which I was supposed to turn in last semester). Actually, I had already written that journal entry, but was looking for web pages about this... uh,
holiday. In the course of doing that, I found
this unfortunate page at the site of the Women's [or is it "Womym's"] Center at Montclair State University.
Stay tuned for that entry with my thoughts on
John R. Bolton... I also have some good news that I want to share.

Bolton, Blog Backlogs, and BirthdaysI have not yet been able to clear any of the backlog of planned blog entries that I have been wanting to do... That list now runs longer than a mile. I do have something on the
John Bolton controversy that I want to post, but right now, I am going to go see if they have any food left at the
UIS "
Cabin Fever Games" cookout (I haven't eaten anything at all today, and it's already 5:39 PM!), and then there is a
surprise party that I just found out about... It starts at 6 PM, so I think that I can get away with posting this, and I hope that ---- doesn't see this before then. ;-)I have actually been somewhat-successful in getting some of my overdue coursework done, which will be necessary, with
graduation coming up. Unfortunately, there is still a lot of it left. I will try to be back here, though, later this weekend.
Update (4/24/05): I will post something about the
surprise party for...
Jeff Black! (and perhaps a photo, like
this one) - That can be my birthday present...
Speaking of the weekend, however, here are some 'weekend readings' to keep everyone busy (if you need any, like
Mr. Corn did) until I get back here. (I'm leaving for
church soon.)

Time Cover Story (for tomorrow): The now-famous
piece on
Ann Coulter!
John Cloud is the same reporter who interviewed us for that previous article after the National Conservative Student Conference last summer... He has already been taking a lot of heat from the Left (including lefty bloggers, of course) for this latest one, which they feel isn't anti-Ann enough. [Latest news on this controversy...] I haven't read the article yet, but I presume that it is rather fair and balanced, and that they are just upset because the common leftist media slant isn't prevalent in Mr. Cloud's article.
Update (4/29/05): Don't subscribe to Time? The full article is actually at CNN's website!

Columbine Anniversary
April 20, 1999[ Latest News... ] [ Websites ]
I was a senior in high school when this happened... It impacted all of us throughout the country.
Recently, Mike Tosh re-posted, on
the weblog of the
Society of Conservative Students at UIS, a
widely-
circulated e-mail containing
the congressional testimony of
Darrell Scott, the father of Columbine
high school student and
shooting victim Rachel Scott.
Unfortunately [and despite
claims to the contrary by the
good but somewhat-
slanted Barbara Mikkelson]
that e-mail is correct in stating that the media did not give adequate coverage to Mr. Scott... But then, that's what they do.
[Update: I just found Prof. Schweitzer's blog entry, which addresses Mrs. Mikkelson's mischaracterizations.]Please read through
that e-mail, and pass it along.

When the cats are away...There are like a million new and
wonderful things that have happened to me since I last blogged here (and some new and horrible things that have happened to
others, across the country), but for this immediate moment, there is just one thing that I can afford to be focused on:

As Drew said, get out, and vote!!
Election Day - It's more than just in November.
